通过本单元教学，学生应能熟练地运用表示“邀请”的常用语；复习谓语、情态动词和实义动词的时态；了解应如何正确地阅读，以及怎样做一个好的听者。

三、难点讲解

1．Imagine that you come across this sentence in a book.

come across 碰到，遇到。例如：

1)I came across her first in Beijing．我是在北京第一次遇到她的。

2)In the course of the experiments, the students came across a series of new problems.在试验过程中，学生们碰到一系列新问题。

2．You can enlarge your knowledge and learn some English at the same time.

enlarge(v.)扩大，扩展；放大。例如：

1)The dictionary has been enlarged to 2000 pages.这部词典扩充到2000页。

2)He is going to enlarge his house.他打算把房子扩大。

3)Please enlarge this photo.请把这张照片放大。

3．It is enough to dip into it and read bits here and there.

A．dip into 意为“浏览(书等)”。例如：

Some books are intended to be read at length, others to be dipped into.有些书要仔细地读，一些书只是浏览一下。
