究、演出实况等用超文本技术组合在一起，结果会是如何呢？论者直言不讳地说："《暴风雨》不再是一部供欣赏的文学作品，而是一堆供记忆的事实，或者是有待破解之谜语、有待解释之奥妙。……当我们以这种方式’阅读’时，剧本倾向于消失在超文本中，就像水消失在海绵中一样。"（Hardison,  1989）但是，想要用这种轻松愉快的口吻来将超文本打发掉是难以办到的。因为用上述方法对名作进行加工，所得到的仅仅是摇篮期的超文本，而不是成熟期的超文本。并不是所有的超文本都将经典艺术置于这等的不幸之中。
