The Spread and Cultivation of Maize in Shanxi and Its Economic Effects Liang Sibao Wang Yun‘ai 
Abstract：Until the Guangxu dynasty the cultivation of maize had been generalized, although it had come into Shanxi by the end of the Ming dynasty. In the article we expound our views at great length on the maize‘other names and the way and the time that maize came into Shanxi after the comparison in the time of maize‘cultivation between Shanxi and the near provinces. Then we indicate the effects of maize on the social and economic progress of Shanxi.
